Musical Moments

New Icon is currently producing a Musical Theatre Concert called Musical Moments that will open on October 14^th until the 16^th, for a limited 4 performances only right here in Hong Kong. Musical Moments is a musical extravaganza celebrating the timeless music of Broadway and the West End. From the 40’s to the present day and from Adler, Andersson, Larson, Coleman, Casey & Jacobs, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Bernstein, Irvin Berlin, Forrest Wright, Wildhorn, Claude-Michel Schonberg and Andrew Lloyd Webber etc ! Featuring hits from Grease, Chess, Sweet Charity,  Kismet , The King & I, West Side Story, Les Miserable, Miss Saigon, Jesus Christ, Superstar, Aspects of Love, We will Rock You, All that Jazz, Sunset Boulevard, Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Evita  and many more.

Speaking at the media launch today, the general manager of New Icon Ltd Mr Ricky Ma said, “New Icon is a newly-established company focussing on the production and presentation of musical concerts of highest calibre. Musical Moments is our first project and we are excited of the opportunity in putting it together with partners from both America and Asia.”

Mr Ma adds, “We are lucky to have Mr. Ko Chi Sum of Spring-Time Stage Productions, among many other of his specialties, a reputable producer of films and musical concerts in working with us as well as Mr. Stanley Shen, general manager of OOCL who, not only participated as the title sponsor but was also involved in the creation of the event throughout.

The show brings together an ensemble of top international and local performers,  including , Tony Vincent ( Open the show as Galileo Figaro on Broadway, West End as well as Las Vegas of We Will Rock You , as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar.)  and Robert Vicencio  ( Lead role of General Thuy in Miss Saigon in UK, Asia) and Li-Tong Hsu from the Netherlands ( Cats, The King & I, Joseph and his amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat ) . Appearing with them is Hong Kong’s very own artists David Quah (Alfredo in La Traviata, Tamino in Magic Flute etc) and Jovita Leung (Bararina in The Marriage of Figaro, Maria in West Side Story), Marsha Yuan (Maria in Sound of Music, Grace in Anne). The musical director and conductor is Mr. Chan Muk and our special guest is Bo Young Kwon on piano.

Musical Moments is presented by New Icon and co-produced by Spring-Time Stage Productions.  It is proudly sponsored by OOCL, Enzo, Dragonair, Hotel Miramar, King Parrot Group, Lumiere, Salon Multimedia Centre, Tom Lee Music, Universal Int'l Investment Ltd and Ms Linda Wong.

The concert will be performed at the  Jockey Club Auditorium at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

This concert will bring the magical Musical Moments of Broadway and West End and will appeal to the sophisticated audience of the stage and the theatre.
